Historically, the mid-Autumn festival pays tribute to the moon goddess, Chang-O, and is thought of as Chinese Thanksgiving because it celebrates the bounty of the summer harvest. And, for the last five years, the Richmond District Neighborhood Center has honored this tradition on Clement Street.
Visit our booth at the SF Richmond District Autumn Moon Festival on September 18, 2021 to see historic photos of the neighborhood and learn about current WNP projects like the Cliff House Collection and our collaboration with the Chinese Historical Society of America, "Chinese in the Richmond." The festival is located on Clement Street between 6th Avenue and 9th Avenue, starting at 11:00am and ending at 3:00pm. In addition to your favorite friendly neighborhood history group, this annual event will include live performances as well as traditional Arts and Crafts.
This event is free and open to the public, no registration is necessary. Come chat with WNPers, enjoy some moon cake, and celebrate our shared community. This event has passed.
