Western Neighborhoods Project and the California State Library will host an afternoon of local history in the Sutro Library on the San Francisco State campus on Saturday, August 5, 2017, 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Enjoy a free and lively afternoon of history, conversation, and conviviality in one of the state’s great research libraries.
OpenSFHistory: Adolph Sutro will present the history and legacy of the capitalist, engineer, and mayor of San Francisco who had an outsized impact on the western neighborhoods and the city as a whole. Hear the stories of Sutro Baths, Sutro Library, and even Sutro Tower, from historians, longtime city residents, and local experts using historical images from the OpenSFHistory archives.
