I recall in the later '40's our gang was playing playing football in our 25th av and Lincoln Way GG Park meadow when the cops came and told us to shoo because a mt. lion had been spotted in the park. We shooed but never saw it. The sighting was reported in the paper the folowing day. Speculation was it traveled up from the Crystal Springs watershed. I never did find out if the whole thing was factual. GG Park used to have so many garter snakes, cotton tail rabbits, quail, water fowl, song birds etc. It is sad to see them missing.
