Due to a hitch in the navy I missed the GG Park races & was not introduced to road racing until 1956. During the late 1950's there was a middle-aged couple that drove a J2X Chrysler-Allard to work every day from Marin County. They parked in a gas station on Howard St. behind the Transbay Terminal. The Allard was a brilliant red, complete with flip-down windscreens & motorcycle fenders. Listening to it Chuf-chuf away on it's way home was a delight.
