Thanks for helping me bring back memories of long ago. My mother used to do all her shopping at this store. I even worked at The Pinelake Market for one summer as a teen age student,(Abraham Lincoln High School), the year was 1942. I stocked shelves and also delivered orders to customers who called in their orders. The then owner of this store was a Mr. Scardili. When I went into the army he wrote a very nice letter of recommendation which helped me get into the cadet program of The Army Air Corps.

As I recall, I made $12 a week, which wasn't too bad for a high school student, especially since we were just working our way out of The Great Depresion.

This job helped teach me some very good work habits which have stayed with me all my life.
