I went to dancing school at Art Linkletter dance school on Vicente from about 1963 until 1967. My parents were sold on it by a salesman who came to our door one night explaining the lessons, which I remember being $3 a week. The school advertised that its lessons included seven forms of dance arts: tap, ballet, jazz, acrobatics, ballroom, singing, and baton. I think the big selling point for us was that the school had door-to-door transportation in the form of a 12 passenger van. I saw Art Linkletter at the grand opening. I think it was 1963. Mr. Linkletter had a business partner with the last name of Totten, so I remember it being the Linkletter-Totten dance school.
