Rebuilding records and photos is a project that St. Cecilia Parish began in 2015, leading up the to the Parish's Centennial in January 2017. Announcements were made at all Masses, informing parishioners of the need to gather old photos (neighborhood, parish buildings, school events, etc.), plus programs, ticket stubs, announcements of activities (sporting events, school plays, parish picnics, graduations, confirmations, etc.). The response was great--8th grade students were available in the school auditorium for six or eight "scanning sessions" following Sunday Masses over a 2-month period. People could bring their photos/memorabilia and have them scanned while they waited--no having to part with treasured items. As they waited, other volunteers had donors complete a simple one-page release form, authorizing use of the images, and identifying the event, date, and donor name. Thousands of images were recorded, documenting a 100-year history of the parish.

The Western Neighborhoods Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
