Re: What was it like inside home during '89 quake?

I had just closed the door to the SFCM (I worked then at 1201 Orgeta-Conservatory of Music) bookstore when the quake hit. The floor literally rolled and the tall bookcases began to sway. I headed for the door and while making a dash for the main entrance, I scooped up a young student who was jumping up and down panic stricken, and got us both out to Ortega St. As others gathered, we watched the street polls literally swaying-all of us just mesmerized. My home out on 48th and Moraga had objects knocked off surfaces but no real damage.
