Re: What was it like inside home during '89 quake?

I was living in Montana when the earthquake hit. So many of my friends still were living in the Sunset and Richmond districts and it took me about a week before I finally contacted them all. I guess what phone services that were working were totally "jammed" with the influx of calls being made. At least my sister who lived in Pacifica managed (by some miracle) to call my Mom that evening to let her know they were ok.

After finally being able to talk with my friends, nobody mentioned any significant damage to their houses or apartment buildings. Only a few fallen items off of shelves or a photo/artwork hanging on a wall. Very minimal considering the magnitude of the quake.
