Well, it took 13 years, but you've found one.
I remember the FWHS quite well, from the late 1950s. There was a clerk there who was very welcoming to a HS-age kid who was seriously interested in old guns and cartridges. The owner was not, in fact, IIRC, he was a bit of an a**hole. Same as the owner at PPSG...don't bother me.
Got one for you: The Trading Post on west side of Divisadero (at ?? Turk? McAllister?). Bought a CW musket there and brought it home (uncased) on a Muni bus...
