That would have been Red Shattuck. I believe he was the assistant manager of Skateland and was a figure there for many, many years. I met him a few times at the Redwoods Senior Community in Mill Valley.

Red didn't live at the Redwoods but his wife Alice was a resident there in the long-term care unit. At the time, Red was living with his granddaughter but she brought him to the Redwoods every day to be with his wife.

Unfortunately, Red and Alice passed away a couple of years ago, and within a few months of each other. They had been married for over 75 years.
