I too remember the organist being up stairs...then they went to playing records. Sock hop's also. I Skated a lot in the 50's and met my future husband at Skateland. I have LOTS of fond memories...I remember Steve Jones, George Thacker, Gloria and Carol Schaffer, Bob Caldwell, Red? < that guy was such a great skater and loads of fun.

The reason it might have seemed dusty was because they powdered the floor with chalk
