It gives a special meaning to "DON'T try this at home," doesn't it?
I mentally was there with a clip board for parts of it, deducting points and writting comments about some poor turns, driving, etc.
Bullit: That rollercoaster drive! I've often wondered about the reactions of people far from SF...Did their movie theatres have a major cleanup afterwards? (Urp!!!!)
As a small child, I did not like roller coasters, even the gentle up and down visiting carnival rides which visited the New York suburbs I formerly lived in before we moved to SF. Disneyland changed my entire experience: The Matterhorn! (Disneyland was discussed here previously.) It was new on our second, and final family trip, now over 50 years ago. My baby sister and I enjoyed zipping up, down, around, thru, across. Later, I realized I had a)been on a roller coaster, and b)liked it. We rode again, after dark...now that was an experience! It only compares, over 50 years later to my other two favorite experiences, all of which almost allow me to leave my body and defy gravity. (Almost, not just quite.)
Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry" movies feature SF scenes. One with a chase scene with a miniature explosive car appears to pay homage to Bullit.
Is anyone keeping track? Along with the Dirty Lake postings, I am the only woman here, at least so far. OK, guys, let's nip a ride thru Twin Peaks Tunnel!
