Chuck just wrapped up a 47-year teaching career at S.I., almost as beloved as his father, J.B. Murphy, who served as an S.I. teacher for a full half-century. Chuck remarked that while his father had gone elsewhere for high school, his own 4 years as a student on Stanyan Street really gave him a 51-year S.I. career. Just so that S.I. will never be "Murphy-less", Chuck youngest offspring, daughter Marielle, a member of S.I.'s first co-ed class of 1993, is starting her 5th year as the school's Development Director.

An amazing family, with a unique contribution to the lives of so many in the Outside Lands.
