OH, THE FOGHORNS. I've always loved listening to them and it is one of the sounds I miss most. At one point back in time, I was planning and actually started writing a music composition featuring foghorn blasts, but as life progressed and it's constraints didn't allow me much free time to better concentrate on it, I ended up dismissing the idea. But who knows, I just may revisit it now... :D
The Bay Area Radio Museum website is fantastic. I just wish it could be listened to on one of these 1950's gems.
Check it out: http://www.transistor.org/
Just about EVERYONE back then was connected to their transistor radio throughout the day listening to KYA, KFRC, KSFO, etc.
Go ahead and see if you can find yours.
