I grew up ( just a block from lands end )in the late 50's and early 60's and traversed lands end and the clifts many a time. Us kids found a lot of caves that I thought were gun enplacements and the caves went back to dead ends. it is possiable that the tunnals were filled in so kids like us wouldn't get hurt. We used to go between the Sutros to China Beach along the clifts all the time. Had a lot of fun.
