Thanks for the pictures of 'The Loop'. Interesting to see the place when it was brand new - and not yet completed. The area closest to 38th Avenue would become the children's playground with swings on the south side, a slide, rings and the monkey bars closer to the steps in front of the clubhouse. Ground was covered with that ground bark stuff - I'm sure there's another name for it. Another picture shows the area next to the clubhouse. That would have a big sandbox and baby swings for the little ones and benches for the moms.

The basketball court was way over on the 39th Avenue side. The clubhouse was a popular place to hang out it no planned activities were going on. Dominos, card games...

Good memories of good times back in the '40s and early '50s. I never knew it had only existed since 1937 and was a WPA project.
