I still "see" Stan Carlsen VW when I drive by that corner...that is where my parents bought my first car--a 1968 VW bug. I wanted the 1967, but Dad "insisted" I wait for the 1968 version with the Ralph Nader seats...ugh...but,I had that car until five years ago! Yes, this comment is not about the dealership in the title line, but it is a car dealer story...Now, if only Van Ness Ave could become "Auto Row" once again...that was a sight!
