Re: Dewey Blvd.:

1980-83, my new wife and I lived on Kensington Way in a very nice, spacious 1-bedroom bootleg inlaw facing the ocean, no view obstructions. The landlady, a widowed, retired SF school district elementary school teacher, asked us to leave when my wife began showing she was pregnant with our first. (We moved to a hilltop above Richmond, Wildcat Canyon, East Bay.) But while at Kensington / Dewey Circle, I soon realized that, for us, this was the very best neighborhood in SF - right above super satisfying Taraval / West Portal commercial district, almost on top of the West Portal Muni station (and gateway to the rest of the city, world); the area was very quiet with very decent, family neighbors, on a human scale (compared to Forest Hill, St. Francis Wood), and close enough to the ocean, close to upper Market / Noe / Castro - and, like I said, a crystal view to the Farralons. There even was a good produce truck at Dewey Circle 2 days / week!
