When I was a freshman at Mercy I started a part time job working at the St. Cecilia's rectory. I answered the phones and if anyone came to the door I would bring them into one of the parlors, and would usually find a priest to help them out. On weekends the regular staff was off so I would help serve breakfast, make beds and do some general housework. I made $1 an hour and usually worked about 12 - 15 hours a week. I was in awe the whole time because the priest house was always a bit of a mystery and to be privy to what went on inside was a real adventure. I used to get teased a lot by the priest especially serving breakfast. I remember walking into the dining room with a plate of muffins, dropping one on the floor, picking it up and putting it back on the plate. The whole room laughed hilariously and I wanted to die. GREAT memories, great experience.
